The Designer Behind Bluu Publishing
My Story.
Where Fashion Meets Education: An Unconventional Journey
My path to becoming an instructional design authority began in an unexpected place—the fashion industry. As a commercial print model during college, I experienced firsthand how powerful visual storytelling and carefully crafted experiences could captivate audiences and drive transformation. What I didn't expect was how this early exposure to the art of presentation, aesthetic excellence, and audience engagement would later revolutionize my approach to educational design.
The Academic Foundation
Armed with a Ph.D. in Teaching and Teacher Education from the University of Arizona, I've spent over two decades mastering the science behind how people learn. This doctoral foundation, combined with my Master of Arts in Education from Azusa Pacific University and Bachelor of Arts in Communications from California State University, Fullerton, provides the theoretical rigor that grounds every project I touch.
But theory without practice remains incomplete. That's why I've worn many hats: classroom teacher, teacher educator, program supervisor, and even Assistant Dean and Director of Teacher Education at the University of California, Riverside. In this role, I orchestrated teacher preparation programs for 126 students across five distinct programs, ensuring regulatory compliance while driving innovation in educational excellence.
The Transformation
Today, as a seasoned instructional designer with expertise spanning individual course development to comprehensive program management and Quality Matters certification, I've discovered my true calling: transforming expertise into impactful learning experiences that connect knowledge holders with learners across diverse markets. My work bridges the gap between subject matter experts and their audiences, creating educational experiences that are as compelling as they are effective.
Beyond the Traditional
What sets me apart isn't just my credentials—it's my perspective. That early experience in fashion taught me that first impressions matter, that aesthetics influence engagement, and that every detail contributes to the overall experience. I've carried these insights into the world of instructional design, approaching each project with the eye of a creative director and the precision of an academic researcher.
I'm also the founder of The Supermodel Society, a personal development platform that redefines excellence, and a published author whose works blend scholarly insight with practical wisdom. These ventures reflect my belief that education should transform lives, not just transfer information.
The Bluu Publishing Vision
Through Bluu Publishing, I bring this unique fusion of fashion-forward thinking and educational expertise to every client interaction. I don't just design courses—I curate learning experiences. I don't just develop curricula—I craft transformational journeys.
Whether you're a content creator or SME looking to share your knowledge, an organization seeking to elevate your training programs, or an entrepreneur launching educational offerings, I bring the same attention to detail, aesthetic sensibility, and commitment to excellence that I honed during my early modeling work to the world of instructional design.
Because when expertise meets exceptional design, transformation is inevitable.
The name "Bluu" (the Swahili spelling of blue) reflects this vision—both the depth of this work and my connection to the global community we serve.
Learning isn’t just information transfer—it’s transformation through clarity and practice. My approach blends learning science with practical course architecture: define outcomes, map modules, and build transparent assessments with clean navigation. I use brief stories, cases, and real examples to anchor concepts in memory, then shift quickly to application so learners can do something with what they learned. Accessibility and UDL principles are built in from the start.
